Poster?
I've just watched Perks of Being a Wallflower yesterday with my mother. Nothing new about that, she's always usually my date to these things. I've been wanting to watch it since it came out but the first week it was showing here was actually my FINALS week (final examinations for the semester in college), it was all hectic because there were so many project deadlines, and I had no money.

Btw, the picture at the left is just a concept movie poster. It is not the official film poster. :)

I guess I should tell you, that I've actually already read the book. During summer earlier this year. During summer work. When there's no work to be done, I read it. One of the people I befriended at work borrowed the book from her friend then lent it to me after she had read it.

At first, I was hesitant.

I haven't been reading serious for a while now.

Last thing I've read and liked was Beastly, to be honest. And I only read it because its front cover was a scene or promotional picture for the film adaptation. Nevertheless, that was pretty good. It was so good that it made me download a torrent of the film to watch and watch again and again at home.

Book.

Unfortunately, I didn't own that copy of Beastly either.

That's how UN-serious I am with reading lately. I don't even bother to buy my own even if it turned out to be a good read.

Perks as it is fondly called, as a book, was pretty good. So I was kind of really expectant about the whole film adaptation thing.

Them casting Logan Lerman and Emma Watson further made my expectations go a wee bit higher.

All in all, as with all books and movies, I still think the book was more beautiful than the film.

However, the film, as it is, was pretty beautiful too.

Logan Lerman fit the awkwardness I perceived Charlie, even if sometimes I still wish they chose a character with free flowy sort of bedhead-ish hair for Sam.

My most favorite though is Patrick. Truth be told, I am unfamiliar with the actor they cast for the role so I was quite scared for a time that this fact might ruin the film for me. But, the actor they cast was just so good and just so... Patrick, that I could've cared less what the actor's name was or what his previous films were. He was so adorable and his scenes were just really sweet, heart-wrenching (the whole thing with Brady and moving on), and funny. His smile was pretty awesome too.

Sam, Charlie, and Patrick.

Also, can I just say that since that I sort of pictured the whole story to be in an American setting, meaning American school, American friends, and American whatnot. So, when I heard Watson's lines, I wanted to clap so much because even if she doesn't really have this really heavy British accent like the rest of her Harry Potter co-actors during that time of her life, her little British accent as she is naturally English was not really that evident during the whole film! So she earned more respect from me for that. I mean, I don't really mind the British and their English, heck, I even love them so because I find their accent and speaking and music really somewhat hot and sexy and everything, STILL, right? :)

P.S.: MOST AWESOME THING ABOUT THE FILM? Stephen Chbosky, the book's author, is also the film director and scriptwriter.

'til these hearts collide.
